GREEN HOUSING PROGRAM

Rebuilding Together Southern Nevada has been incorporating green practices into their work and providing home rehabilitation since 1994.
Home repair and rehabilitation are inherently green. Through the repairs Rebuilding Together affiliates make, homeowners save money and are better able to afford other essential needs.
Rebuilding Together Southern Nevada’s GREEN HOUSING PROGRAM will provide:
• Energy Efficiency - adding insulation, caulking around windows, weather-stripping, and adding water heater blankets.
• Water Efficiency - installing aerators in sinks and showers, low-flow or dual flush toilets, and fixing leaky faucets.
• Resource Efficiency - using recycled materials recycled construction waste, using fewer and less property disposed of hazardous waste.
• Indoor Environmental Health – installing exhaust fans, no-VOC paints and finishes,

properly ventilating the home, using lead safe work practices, eliminating mold, pest management, and using non-toxic cleaning products.
• Smart Land Use- using native plant species, plating shade trees, planting non-toxic varieties in households with children.
